New Grant Announcement
Jefferson County Conservation District has given a grant to the Quimper Grange for the installation of a hedgerow planting alongside our 32nd St property line. The purpose of this is twofold:
1. To create a strip of native plants to support our fauna; and
2. To create a visually-appealing screen to enhance our neighborhood's appearance.
The location will be covered in heavy plastic for most of the summer to kill off the thick turf and weed seeds. Then new plantings will start to go in early fall.
Many thanks to JCCD for this generous gift! They can be reached at info@jeffersoncd.org

Happy Hour:
Open Mic & Singalong
First Tuesday
Happy Hour is open to the public on the first Tuesday of the month starting at 5:00 pm. Enjoy listening and singing along with us. The relaxed atmosphere encourages beginners to advanced groups and individuals to perform. Bring your musical instruments, even a kazoo and play along with us. We do suggest a small donation to help pay the rent.
Guidelines for Open Mic Happy Hour: Sign up upon arrival if you wish to perform. Solo performers are allowed one song and one singalong song. Groups can perform up to three songs, with one designated as a singalong. Bring singalong music for projection. Kindly maintain quiet and respectful behavior while performers are on stage.

Death Cafe

Thursday, January 8
5:15-6:30 pm (doors open at 5)
Quimper Grange
A Death Cafe is a group-directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives, or themes. It is not a grief support or counseling session, but rather a safe place to bring your curiosity about death.
All are welcome!
In keeping with Death Cafe tradition, tea and cake will be served.
Death Cafes were started in London in 2011 and today are held in over 93 countries around the world. This Death Cafe is hosted by Dying Matters Guild, established in 2021 as an informal collective of people devoted to allaying fears around death and providing education, conversation, and connection to resources around end-of-life issues.

Quimper Grange Food Bank Garden
January 2026

L-R: Arlene, JJ, Louise, Mary Beth, Bill, Seth and Mado hold just a sample
of what we donated on Christmas Eve!
Our December 24th Harvest was amazing. We took 56 pounds of food to the Christmas Eve Food Bank, and another 10 pounds to the Recovery Cafe. Garden volunteers also brought in pounds of herbs, kale and flowers; the garden harvested carrots (it took two people over two hours just to scrub them!), leeks, pac choi, and stir fry mix. A truly happy gang this harvest day!
